The takeaway I’m getting from this is, if you’re a bad or inexperienced employer you should signal that at the recruitment stage so candidates can self select early, saving you time and money. That’s a valid point, but your return on investment would be much improved if you achieved a company culture that took responsibility for getting the best out of great people, rather than putting the onus on your people to perform (or even just survive) despite the culture around them.
